Evaluation of Event
We all sat down as a class after the gig and discussed the whole event as one. We thought that the performances were good and people new what they were doing but made a couple mistakes like tuning problems and some people forgetting the words. But on the good side, as a total, we made around £294.79 for out charity oxfamwhich is amazing!
Time over ran slightly but this was because we had much more technical equipment than anticipated. This just meant that I had to cut down the time people had on sound checking.
The transitions were really quick and smooth. In our last session before the gig we decided to have Somer and Alex talking in between sets so the next act could set up and have the audience occupied and entertained. This consisted of bugging up the crowd and firing them up, comedy acts where Alex tried teaching somer to drum and other entertaining events.
Everyone wanted to sit down for the event when actually we intact wanted them up by the stage close up. This also meant by the lack of chairs. people had to sit on the floor.
For the Pa tech and Lighting Tech Cameron and his parents company sorted out some rigs for us.. This helped the event a lot and made the gig look really high tech and impressive. It looked very professional too. Their light really gave the gig a mood which was quite chilled. Luminuss purple and pick were shining through the majority of the venue.
My idea of bringing the sofas closer to the stage i think helped the event too. It was a good idea because when people started filling up the venue it looked as though there were a lot more people.
The posters looked really good and were stuck everywhere. I Also did some busking to promote the event. We also put put posters up around Henley town however I think that we could have been more forward with shops to put our posters up. Also as a group we could have done some busking around the town to help promote the gig like the other class did.
We finished the event slightly early which was useful because we had a huge amount of technical equipment and staging to put away. Overall i think everyone in our group who ran and organised the event were very happy. It ran really smoothly, lots of people attended and the performances were really good. It was a successful event i hope we have another event like this.

Performance Evaluation
Audience - Friends family and public people came to our event This means we managed to get a variety of different people to our event through publicity. This also meant that we were quite comfortable with the people we were playing in from of because we new most of them rather then knowing none of the audience. The audience also consisted of the Henley Standard and teachers, this meant that there was publicity and a small paparatzy there, this did make some of us a little more nervouse but we were all still very confident and comforatble when we stood up on that stage.
Communication - In my ensemble we communicated a lot with each other and even when Somer forgot her words i helped her by singing them near her. For my group eye contact was an important. Not only did we from communication help eachother with the words but timing. At the end of the bridge this was vital because this was the hardest part of staying in time, this is beacuse we all had to come in sync. Communication in the group also helped us look proffesional and made it look like we knew what we were doing.
Stage Presentation - As a whole in the ensemble, we all new that stage presentation was very importantant in our performance, we all needed to look relaxed and confidant and if we had any mistaked we shouldnt show them other wise the croud would more likely notice it. If you look messy and dont look confidant, the croud will assume your performance will be too. We all dressed well and none of us looked as we have just come out of the garbage tip, we all looked proffetional and all looked the part. Eye contact from Somer especially was very good with the croud, she manage to look at the croud for a good time but also mainted concentration in her performance.
Musical Competency - I felt that we all played together very well, we sounded very smooth and we all looked pretty confidant on stage. The guitar was in tune and the singing was in tune aswell. Charlie on the drums was perfectly on time and kept the whole ensemble together and made it very tight. Levels of indeviduals as well was very good, the singing was not over powered by any of the instruments and you could hear all of it very cleary and so didnt soundmuddy. We went through the song very well and so it
sounded very smooth, when we changed fromchorus to bridge or verse to pre chorus it sounded smooth and didnt sound clashy, we all ded very well to keep the performance consistant. We also handed timing of the different sections well too, we all monaged to go into different sections smoothly apart from when we left the bridge. But everything else went very smoothly. As the guitarist i found the performance easy because i could hear everything very clear and with help from the drummer charlie i could stay in time with everyone else.

Dan Noble (student of the extended diploma class) : "The event was really good. I think that this event was more organised and so the event moved quite smooth. I think the fact that our class performed a day before helped because you could look at all our errors and learn from them. The tech you guys used were also pro, you had such good mics and the lighting and PA were sick.
Some of the performances were awsome as well, like that blond girl opn the piano, i really like the song she wrote with her dad, I also like how you used one of our songs (Atlantic Shore) too haha. But some of the bands and the solos were horrible. Really out of tune singing and some of the bands were super sloppy wich sucked but thats was pretty much it"
Jasper Lynch (Student of the extended diploma class) : "i thought thegig was good, all the performances a part from a couple didnt even hint out an error. The only thing i didnt like was the tunings of some of the guitars, like some of them were really out of tune and made the songs sound a bit off. But besides that he gig was awsome, and the kit you uys used were sweet.
Some of the performances were not very good either haha, i think some of the bands really did need more practice but it wasnt to bad, i couldnt really pick any indevidual bands or solos that were terrible. i thought some of the solos were really good though, like your guitar piece from be howard that ou enhanced was sick, that girl with blond hair on the piano was also sick. I also really liked it when you played with Dan and when Harry played with Dan."
Henry Tse (My Dad) : " the actual event was good, but the performances could have used a lot more practice. Some of the guitars were out of tune, singing was out of tune, and the tecniques used on the instruments could have been a little more prepared. Some of the bands were really dull and had no energy and lacked comunication. They also played the songs really slow which draged on a lot and made the performance really sloppy. But i did enjoy one of the songs from the band that played after the interval and the band that played at the end. I also loved some indevidual solos like Lissies solo, she was really fantastic and so was your guitar playing and Somers singing. The kit that you guys used was also very good, but maybe a bit over board for a little event in the youth cetre, but it still made the event a lot nicer having the effecive lighting and the high quaity PA.

Planning
Overal i think our planning was very good and consistant. Every team that took part all helped indevidually. Alex and Lissie helped massivly my organising the event and contacting the venue. Chris also helped by organising the bands and solo performances. He kept everyone in order and new exactly who was playing when and where. He organised the different performances well. The sub event managers Charlie and Alex created a little cupcake event to rase money to aid the charety and also to promote the event, without this, we wouldnt have made as much money and the amount of people who tuned up could have been less. The publicity team also did very well. Hanging up posters which had been created especially for the event promoted the event massivly. There were some people from the community who tunred up and even the henley standard turned up thanks to Millie who contacted the promotion team of Henley College. Finance from Joe and Demitris benifited the group because now everyone new how much things wouild cost like, costs of printing out flyers. They also calculated the money we had all made and made the whole thing a lot more simple. The Tech Team of Cameron was a massive help. Without his Tech the event would have not been as far of a seccess then it was. It gave the event a massive lift ontop of the other groups and made it look very proffesional. The lighting was fantastic and the sound was really good aswell.
The overal planning for everyone as a group was good. We were all really organised with our work and we would always have meeting to find out how everyone is doing. This waay we new how we were headed, if we were going badly and needed to make changes or if we were taking the right route. Organising this event and planning it was a huge success and overall the event was a success. Planning was very strong and clear and easy to follow. Everyoner had a possition to take a d a role to fill so that the event would be a success. Having each indevidual roles also helped because we didnt just have a whole lot of us doing one then and then moving onto the next. We all had different roles in different sectors to help make a successful event. Having different roles also made the organising of the event a lot faster i think and without the participation of each group we wouldnt have had an event as successful.
