1 Learn the songs at a high standard. This also means practice aswell, being able to play the song to your best is crucial to a solo performance because once a mistake is made, its a lot more prominant to when your playing in an ensamble.
2 Be able to play infront of an audience comfortablty so your not to nervosue. This also means youll be able to get the audience to participate. when the audience see your comfortable and arnt nervouse and stressed, they are less likely to be looking for mistakes.
3 Make sure you know what the audience want. You dont want your audience geting bored of your performace, you want them at the edge of their seat at all times.
4 Listen and whatch other performances which relate to the performance your going to do. Watch how theu interact with the croud, how they are position (sitting or standing) whatch to see how comfrotable they are and if they make mistakes what they do?

Whats the use for this preporation?
1 learning the songs at a high standard will help you be confident with the pieces your playing. When you know how to play it well and practice it a lot, youll be so used to playing it, itll be easy when it comes to the main performance preventing you from making harsh mistakes.
2 Being able to play infront of an audience will make you confident. I practiced this by playing infront of my parents and friends a few times before the actual performance. When your confident infront of a croud youll be less nervouse, therefor you wont be concinterating so hard not to make mistkaes, whe your confident on stage the croud will be able to see it and so will be able to get more involved and enjoy themselves more.
3 Making sure you have the audience you want is crucial. Plaiying your classical performance infront of a group of people that normally listen to thrash mettle isnt the best idea. They might just get bored and leave. You also want to play infront of a croud you would be confident to perform infront of. Therfor your a lot more relaxed on stage and youl be able to play the set without stress and being nervouse.Playing infront of friends may boost your performance, by the time you play bast the stage of being nervouse, you may want to show off and blay some solos which will definetly entertani the croud more, you may allso want croud nteraction which will definetly boost your performance.
4 Listening to performances and watching them on youtube will be very useful before you actually endure the task yourself. Whatching the videos may help you get a good idea of how to involve the croud and how to interact with them. Youll also be able to calculate how much time you should spend talking to the croud. You may not look at past performances and not speak enough, or to much that the croud just get really bored.
5 Playing the set the whole way through will give you a rough idea on what songs to do after another. Some songs may tire you out completely and you may want them last instead of first, you dont want to be tired throughout your set. Playing the set through will also give you a good idea of what songs should be in which order do to contrast of the set. There may be very up beat songs last and all the slow songs are first or the other way round. You want them in a mix so you croud wont know whats coming.
6 Making sure that your tuning is precise can make your sound a lot nicer. If you have different tunings for each song this can be difficult and annoying to change butyou need to make sure that your tunings are tight or it could sound messy.
7 Practicing the terchniques regulaly will enhance your performance massivly and will enable you to play to a much higher standard. Being able to play at a high standard will allow you to be comfortable with playing live a bit more.
8 Having the set list in the right order can prevent you from being tired and not being able to perform o your best level by the im eyou ge to he big fanaly,

Intro song - This song is qute easy for a loop song because im just layering massivly till the end when it all dies down. On of the problems i had in this practice was staying i time to the rhythm guitar. I improved this by playing the first two loops over and over again till i got it right. I also played the first rhytm guitar over and over again with the tempo used on the actual loop station its self. This helped my because it enabled me to stay more i time ad so playing the lead line was simple to pla to top of eachother. After this session i have improved on this song massivly due to repetitive practice ad patience on getting the song right. The song sounds a lot more clear and sounds a lot more intime. By the end of it i played through the song without the click playing on the loop station.
Ben howard influence song - Today i practiced this song and foud this song a lo easier to play as i have played this son a lot more times before then most songs, i have also composed this song and so i dont have to stick to a certain stimulus. The problem i had with this song was dynamics, it sounded loud the whole time and didnt vary in volume so it because boring and dull to play. I enhanced this by playing and intro to this song which i made which was a lot quieter and calmer, doing this made the song a lot more interesting and made a build up for the loud section of the song. Doing this made the song sound a lo nicer and stronger. Plaing though the song also made me better at playing it due to practice and also increased my stamina which caused me to be less tired after the song. This session benifitted me and made the song sound a lot better and help me inprove on the techniques used in this song.
Spaish song - Today i practiced the spanish song. This is the fastest song in the set, this includes a lot of spanish strumming and fast picking solos at the intro with a spanish influence. The problem i had with this song is making the into cleaner and the strumming more precise. I practiced over and over the intro trying to make the intro sounding a lot more smooth and clear and after some hard practice i could see and hear a difference, this was due to practice. I also practiced the strumming. I did this by doing the strumming technique really slowly and preggressing to go faster a little bit each time and by the end of the session i played through the whole song a lot more cleaner and it was sounding a lot nicer.
Loop song - This song was very hard to practice for because it did require an audence and some people to participate in it, so i gathered a couple friends in my room and i told them that they would be involved in this song, i told one guy called Will Desalles to do a beat for me (he can beat box) in a tempo that i clapped out for him, I then got him to do other bassy tones with his voice that can reach really low notes. i Then put some guitar ontop of that loop, And did some vocals, i just loooped above all this so many times till i thoughrt it was appropriate to stop. This was practiced with will a few time and other poeple to do other sound effects such and shouting ect.
FULL SET PRACTICE
Practice 1 - On my first practice of the set i instantly found that my whole set requires a lot of action and stamina and makes me very very tired by the 3rd song. I found it hard because my first 2 songs were very fast driven spanish songs which required fast strumming and made my rists tired. To prevent this i have been runing though both songsso my arms can get used to it and so my muscles also develop and so my stamina builds. I have also put an dextra bit in he first song which is quite calm and so gives me a bit of a rest. I also found staing in time for the first loop i use on the loop station hard and so to prevent speeding up and making the song sound really messy i got an app for my phone which did a click at ay tempo i wanted, i then attached it to my headphones and listnened to it thoughout the song and so the song sounds a lot less messy.

Practice 2 - This is my second practice and already my performance is sounding a lot better, since practicing the two fast songs my stamina has increased and i found tha i dont get as easily tired. i also found having a click in my ear so much more useful for staying in time. i sill found that my wrist would swell and feel numb after the fast songs so i loosteing my hand when i played them and it helped, so now playing the two songs were a breeze and i could now focus on the techniques used in the other songs.
The loop songs are still no sounding perfect do to nit being in time, even wih a click i still needed to improve with plaing the first not at the precise time to make the song in sync. I helped myselfby just runing through the fist part of the song over and over again and prracticed the syncopation of hiting a note and pressing down the record button on the loop. After doing this my songs sounded a lot more in sync with the rest.

Practice 3 - recording the loops and making sure not to get feed back and record things i dont want was another thing i found hard in this session after getting the syncopation done. I often forget that the loop records everything during the loop if you dont stop the recording so i need to make sure that i press the stop record so it makes it less likly to record things like feedback and things like me breathing and talking and practcing. i Helped m,yself by jusst doing somesimple melodys and recording over and stopping and then recording another melody ontop. i did this a few time and it helped me remember to press the stop button. I then tried doing this for my song and i found it a lo easier and it sounded a lot beter no having background noise in the recording and other noises such as feedback.
Practice 4 - I did another full run through and now i am pretty comfortable with my performance, I am also confident to play this because i have got all the issues soted that were in my set. After the practiced sessions i can see clear improvement and the set sounds a lot more clear and smooth. I have no issues to address in this performance and i is soundin a lot nicer.
